Festivali i Këngës 45

Festivali i Këngës 45 took place in the Palace of Congresses in Tirana, Albania. There were two semifinals (21 & 22 December 2006) and a final (23 December 2006), in addition to a Youth Night competition which selected 2 artists on 4 & 5 December 2006. FIK 45 was used to select the fourth Eurovision Song Contest entry for Albania. 31 songs competed for the win but only 16 made it to the final. In the end, Frederik Ndoci & Aida Ndoci won the first prize and went on to represent Albania in Eurovision. Rosela Gjylbegu was the runner up. The winner was determined by a jury of 7 judges. The 7 judges awarded 10 songs with points, with their favourite song receiving 12 points, the second-favourite song receiving 9 points, and continuing downwards from 8 points to 1 point. The RTSH orchestra was present, but the option of playback was also available.
